SiliaChrom® C18 HPLC Column For Highly Acidic And Basic PH Conditions
Acidic and basic mobile phases have found widespread applications in the reversed-phase HPLC separation of many important pharmaceutical and environmental compounds. Analytes such as pharmaceuticals and biomolecules often show peak shape, retention and selectivity changes when the pH of the mobile phase is changed from neutral to acidic pH (pH <1.0) or to basic pH (pH >11.0). SiliCycle offers SiliaChrom® HPLC columns for a wide pH range.
SiliaChrom® SB C18 has the particularity that the silane carries two different functions:
• The C18 Hydrophobic function
• Transversal hindered isopropyl groups which protect the surface from an acidic attack.
This chemistry guarantees the stability of this reverse phase in very low pH (up to 0.8)
SiliaChrom® XT Fidelity C18 has a hybrid surface composed from a condensation of inorganic SiO2 species and an organosilane (CH3-SiO1.5). This hybrid, a more hydrophobic matrix, has an incomparable resistance to extreme high pH conditions (up to 12). The only difference between SiliaChrom XT C18 and SiliaChrom XT Fidelity C18 is the way they are packed, giving Fidelity columns more robustness at high pH and temperature.
