What is FaPEX?

FaPEX - Fast Pesticide Extraction

The FaPEX acronym stands for "Fast Pesticide Extraction".

FaPEX is a fast extraction/clean-up technique for pesticide residue analysis, developed by the Taiwan Agricultural Chemicals and Toxic Substances Research Institute (TACTRI).
It's a 1mn extraction step that precedes the LC/MS/MS or GC/MS/MS analysis.

FaPEX offers the following benefits:

  • wide spectrum of targets: FaPEX can extract more than 310 pesticides simultaneously
  • high efficiency: within the same time period, FaPEX allow up to 40 more extractions than traditional methods
  • green chemistry and sustainability: halve the use of organic solvent, and produces less waste.
  • Lower lab expenses: lower labor costs (up to 60%), and requests less instruments
