What is the thermal stability of the SiliaMetS?
> back to the scavengers FAQ page
A thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) has been performed on the Si-Thiol. This technique allows to determine the mass lost due to decomposition or loss of volatiles (such as moisture). Based on this analysis, Si-Thiol is considered to be stable up to 220°C, but we suggest not to go over 150°C. Although this analysis hasn’t been done on all our scavengers, other scavengers are expected to exhibit similar behavior.
Thermal Stability
Thermogravimetric analysis, or TGA, is our method to determine any mass loss on Si-Thiol due to decomposition, oxidation, or loss of volatiles (such as moisture).
Based on TGA Analysis, SiliaMetS Thiol is considered to be stable up to 220°C, but we suggest not to go over 150°C.
