Amphoteric Borylketenimines: Versatile Intermediates in the Synthesis of Borylated Heterocycles

Reported herein was the 1st synthesis of amphoteric borylketenimines from ethynyl N-methyliminodiacetic acid (MIDA) boronate and sulfonyl azides via copper catalysis (scheme).

This work highlights the unexplored utility of borylketenimines in the synthesis of potentially bioactive molecules.

In situ SiliaMetS Thiol successfully removed the remaining Cs in deprotection reaction, which resulted in complete conversion and high selectivity.
