Working with fluorinated silica phases
Fluorinated sorbents are particularly useful for the separation of fluorine containing molecules from one another as well as from non-fluorous ones. They can also be used in chromatographic separations of non-fluorinated molecules, similarly to a regular reversed-phase just with a different selectivity.
SiliCycle offers three different phases with various selectivities: SiliaBond Pentafluorophenyl (PFP), SiliaBond Tridecafluoro (TDF) and SiliaBond Fluorochrom (FCM) nec.
Available in bulk (SiliaBond), in SPE cartridges (SiliaPrep), in pre-packed flash cartridges (either irregular SiliaSep or as spherical SiliaSep PREMIUM) and in HPLC columns (SiliaChrom Plus PFP) to help our customers achieve their separation goals.

SiliaBond Pentafluorophenyl (PFP) (R67530B)
SiliaBond® Pentafluorophenyl (Si-PFP) is a sorbent primarily used in the separation of molecules bearing fluorine atoms but may also be used in the separation of non-fluorous compounds such as Taxol and its derivatives. Because of its phenyl ring, Si-PFP has a higher selectivity for aromatics containing molecules compared to the other fluorinated sorbents. -
SiliaBond Fluorochrom (FCM) nec (R63730B)
SiliaBond Fluorochrom (Si-FCM) is a fluorinated sorbent particularly useful for the separation of fluorine containing molecules from non-fluorous ones. The applications of these types of sorbent are not limited to fluorous compounds but may also be used in chromatographic separation of non-fluorinated molecules, just like a regular reversed-phase would do, but with different selectivity. -
SiliaBond Tridecafluoro (TDF) (R63530B)
SiliaBond Tridecafluoro (Si-TDF) is a sorbent primarily used to separate fluorinated molecules. It can also be used in fluorous solid-phase extraction (FSPE) of fluorous-tag compounds as reported for the synthesis of oligosaccharide. -

SiliaPrep Pentafluorophenyl is a fluorous sorbent used to separate fluorinated molecules and non-fluorinated ones. The electron density presents fluorinated aromatic ring which affords an enhancement in the retention of conjugated and aromatic ring-containing due to the desirable pi-pi interactions. Excellent alternative of the C18 when the C18 presents a selectivity problem. -
