Use Of SiliaBond Carbodiimide
> back to SiliaBond for Amide & Ester Synthesis
SiliaBond Carbodiimide (or Si-DCC) is a bound, neutral carbodiimide that may be used for the synthesis of amides, esters, and activated esters. Loading is determined by titration of the excess oxalic acid after formation of oxalic anhydride. The use of silica-supported DCC eliminates purification issues caused by the formation of toxic dicyclohexylurea (DCU) as it remains bound to the silica.
